• Applicants for admission to the Faculty of Engineering have to appear for Entrance Examinations to the Preparatory Year organized by the Centre of Preparatory Year in the University with coordination with the Faculty Deanship. The applicants for the entrance examination should fulfil the following requirements:

    1. Applicantsshould have the General Ssecondary Certificate (Scientific Section) provided not more than five years have passed since obtaining it.
    2. Applicants should have obtained the required percentage not less than 80%, as specified by the University Council.
    3. In general, the applicants can specify two specializations in the Faculty, as the first and second choice after passing the Preparatory Year and the selection to the specific specialization is based on grade points computations obtained for those passed the Preparatory Year.
    4. Faculty of Engineering offers seats for Institutions and Companies that have collaborations with the Faculty specifically to facilitate field training for Faculty students. This admission is subjected to University regulations.
    5. Applicants for Marine Engineering have to appear for personal interview subjected to IMO Rules.
    6. Applicants for Architectural Engineering have to pass Free Hand Drawing Examination prepared by the Department.

    Further, a limited number of seats, not more than 5%, of the student accepted in each department are reserved for three categories of students, namely, self-finance, government scholarships and cultural exchange programmes of cooperation with other countries. Admissions from all these categories are subjected to the rules stated above.
